Hi.
I attempted to ressurect my struggling to go feed with an update but have failed.
The doctor did talk me through it but can anyone who has been through the sigmoidoscopy procedure educate me please?
My first appointment with my consultant was on Saturday. After a discussion and an examination he has ordered a sigmoidoscopy to be done in the next few weeks. The procedure itself, I'm not overly worried about. I was expecting a colonoscopy at some point and I understand a sigmoidoscopy is very similar.
The thing that's bothering me is my stupid health anxiety is now in overdrive wondering what he may find.
My symptoms are:
Constipation (going between 3 to 5 days)
Bloatedness
Abdominal and bottom fullness feeling
Heartburn, especially when I eat carb heavy food.
Daily discomfort.
Increased urination at times.
Excessive mucous.
I played down on Saturday how its making me worry, but because I'm not in any terrible pain and no blood I'm looking at the positives (well trying).
The mucous is a big problem for me. There is so much of it. I asked him as surely that should make me go easier. He said yes which is why he needs to do this procedure to fund out why I can't.
I can't help but worry. The amount I pass is not normal and the fact it should be helping me go but is in fact stopping me from going is playing on my mind.
Any advice will be appreciated.
TIA x
