Finger pain

Can anyone tell me what the 'extra' bone bits could be caused by on my radiograph?
This is my left index finger, the pain has been pretty constant for a couple of months. But I've had the same happen on my other hand too, the pain has stopped there now.

Could be osteoarthritis, do you get stiffness and swelling as well as pain?
