Has anyone suffered with this? The pain is intense. I was given antibiotics on Thursday but they haven't helped and my thumb has continued to swell and pus is forming. So gross.

I asked my husband to drain it last night with a sterilised needle which provided some relief but it's back to being very painful.

I can't hold a pen or a knife and I'm wondering at which point I call 111 or the out of hours gp to explain the antibiotics aren't helping.

Help!

I'd go to the pharmacy and see if they recommend using something like magnesium sulphate on it. I used this when my son had an infected finger and it helped get the pus out. Hope it's feeling a bit better than this morning.

I know I’m late to this but have had this for 2 months now and 3 courses of antibiotics which did not work! My poor fauna
Anyway. After a google I started putting Tea tree oil on it and it’s finally possibly going away. I wish I’d known about this before
