I’ve had a sore throat for a month now. It followed a bout of the flu with a lingering cough which has now been gone a couple of weeks.
When it started it was horrendous, awful, keeping me awake pain. I then had a course of antibiotics which made it better but not great, and now 2 weeks on it’s getting more and more painful. The sore throat started on one side, weirdly then went to the other and is now back on the original side only. My ear and the side of my face is now hurting slightly too.
I’ve been to the doctors, they did blood tests which showed nothing bar a Vitamin D deficiency so she said she’s not that worried. I tried reflux meds which made no difference. She said my throat looks ok, they’ve done a test for strep but it’s unlikely. I have no tonsils so nothing affecting them.
I’m getting concerned now and am worrying about more sinister causes. So I’m asking if anyone has experienced a persistent sore throat which has been viral or has any ideas what it could be?
