My 10yo DS has just been diagnosed with an under-active thyroid

His results are:
TSH 150 (range 0.35-5.5)
Free T4 3.4 (range 10-19.8)
Thyroid Antibody >1300 (range 0-60)

He has a slightly enlarged thyroid, not grown in height for quite some times, dry skin but apart from that he thinks he feels normal. Occasionally a "bit cold".

With these blood results surely he will have been feeling pretty shit but not realised it! (Under-active thyroid myself).

We have been seen by Paedatrician and referred to see Paed endocrinologist. More bloods in a month, plus a scan.

My poor boy!

Does anyone else have experience of childhood hypothyroidism? Any hints and tips going forward - if DS thinks how he feels now is normal I am not sure how we can help him get the right dose!
