Preputioplasty experiences please.

My son was going to have this and the surgeon has just suggested (an hour or so before the op) that he might be disappointed with it and maybe a circumcision would be best.
Ant experiences out there please?

He said he might not like how it looks and it might become tight again. He said if he did do circumcision he coukd leave sone of the foreskin. There is no scar tissue. I feel very unqualified to help him decide.

What did you decide in the end and what was the outcome longer term? My 10 old needs to be circumcised for medical reasons and we have had similar conversations with Drs about to two procedures.

My son decided to be circumcised. He healed up really well and as he is happy with the outcome. Looking back, I think it was the best thing to do. I can't see how the other option would have been nice for him.
