Waking up with headaches

Everyday for the last month or so I'm waking up with a headache and a stuffy nose and ravenously hungry/thirsty.

I always take a drink to bed and eat plenty in the day (probably too much). I thought maybe the stuffy nose was hay fever or dust-mite allergy so I've been taking hay fever tablets and been dusting/hoovering everyday but I'm still waking up all stuffy and headachy. I do usually feel better as the day goes on.

I am also feeling constantly exhausted. I have a DS of 16 months who doesn't sleep brilliantly (not terrible but usually one wake up a night) but DH and I share night duties - and I am getting a lot more sleep than I did for the first year of his life (and felt ok!).

I know my symptoms are relatively minor in the grand scheme of things, but it's getting wearing waking up everyday feeling like you are about to come down with a nasty cold.

Anyone have any ideas? Feel a bit daft going to the GP

I grind my teeth and clench my jaw when I'm asleep and before I got the mouth guard I had those symptoms. Headache in the morning, stuffiness (everything in your face is connected so it does make sense). Exhausted because I wasn't getting enough deep sleep because of my jaw movements. Do you have a clicking sound in your ear at all?

Might be something to consider.

Other possibility could be sleep apnoea?

I was just thinking that I feel the same. I’m going to stop drinking wine. I’ve decided it’s that.

My aunt was waking up with a stuffy nose and sinuses every morning and went to the gp. She was diagnosed with copd and it's something to do with the blood not circulating well. She was not expecting that diagnosis.
I wake up every morning with a stuffy nose and for me it's allergies. I can't seem to make it go away with so just live with it. If I sleep with feather pillows I wake up feeling very groggy, sore eyes and sneezing, headache. Like I've got a hangover and a cold.
I think it would not be embarrassing for you to go to the doctor. Weird or different feelings in your body are what they are there to diagnose.

It's the start of hayfever season for me, I often wake up with a headache and feeling groggy. It affects my sleep so even if I think I've had a decent night I've not had great quality sleep. I'm so much better when I remember to take my antihistamines everyday.
