kidney reflux can anyone tell me about this please

dd is 5 weeks old today she as an infection of the kidneys but having a test in a few weeks as they think she as kidney reflux

poor little thing!

Normally, urine flows out of the kidneys towards the bladder and there are valves in the tubes to make sure it only goes one way.
If there's a problem with the valves urine can end up going the wrong way, back to the kidneys, which can cause infections and scarring of the kidneys.

she on low anitbiotics for long term

DD's friend was not diagnosed until she was 4 and has quite a few problems as her kidneys have been damaged, She has been on long term antibiotics and has had a few operations
but the earlier they can diagnose it the less likely that there is long term problems from what i can gather

yes they said it could scar her kidneys thats why they want to find out now
