Arthritis at 31?

The last few months I've been waking up with stiff hands to the point where I cannot open them out flat for a good 5 minutes. I've noticed that I've started to struggle with everyday tasks such as picking up my little girl and opening packets/jars. I phoned my doctor who has requested I go for an X-ray on both hands and have a blood test done as it could be arthritis.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I have psoriatic arthritis which is controlled by medication. I used to have very stiff hands first thing , hopefully you will get some answers after your appt

@Jojoanna I also suffer from psoriasis. It went away for a year, now it's back with a vengeance and that's when the stiffness started. Do you mind me asking what type of medication you are taking and does it help?

I suffered with psoriasis and it turned to arthritis, I take methotrexate 15mg once a week which controls it

You need to book in to see a rheumatologist. There's a publicity campaign about pain shaking hands with ra that explains it quite well I'll try and find. I have psoriatic arthritis and it stated just like that after my second child was born.
