Weird finger circulation symptom

Just wandering around today and one of my fingers randomly went numb and yellow for about 5 minutes . Pic attached . Any ideas what this is!? Ordinary temperature, just on a walk in the countryside. No pain or discomfort. Age late 30s. Armchair medical observations welcome!

It looks like Raynaulds syndrome, did you have pins and needles in it as the circulation came back?

That happens to me - I think it's Raynauds. I have an underactive thyroid too - autoimmune disorders tend to clump together IME. Anything like that in your family op?

Looks like Raynauds to me too. I've had this since I was a teenager. It's worse in cold weather but can happen in any weather. It's annoying.

I second Raynauds, didn’t know I had it til my dr noticed it one cold morning. My fingers look just like yours when having held onto something in the cold.

Agree Raynauds, I have it and my fingers go exactly like this, it can be very painful at times.

It happens to one of my toes.
I take beta-blockers. Am not sure if they are connected in some way.

Same thing happened to me last week! Does anyone know if there are any treatments available the pins and needles were awful....worse than when I had carpal tunnel

Hello and welcome to the world of Raynauds!

I've had it all my life, if it's suddenly started happening to you then you should get yourself down to the doctors as (very rarely) late onset Raynauds can be a symptom of other things such as Lupus or Scerlodermia.

Usually I find it a result of drastic temperature change, can be from cold to hot or hot to cold, my most common triggers are picking up bottles of milk/frozen stuff in the supermarket, holding the cold steering wheel in winter when I first get in the car and washing up with really quite hot water.

The quickest way I have found to sort it out is to gently suck on the affected finger, or stick my hands on DHs back. Warming them up too quickly bloody hurts.

Used to get me out of numerous PE lessons in the winter at school...

Yep Raynauds I would get it in my nipples too when I lived in a particularly cold house! Ds seems to have very cold extremities so wonder if he's heading that way too

Thanks all, after googling that it seems to be Reynauds and the outdoor pursuit I do a lot of seems to be associated with it. I’ll seek further guidance on the alternatives but I suspect Hugh Laurie is right in that it’s never Lupus...

No particular pins and needles on return of pinkness

I get this on my feet but my GP tells me it is NOT Reynaud's (but the GP who told me that is a dismissive twat on the whole and it was clear she wasn't going to do anything about it).

I cannot re-warm my feet without immersing them in hot water - if I put them in front of the fire they'd be burnt before they warmed up again. My feet are a white/yellow colour throughout the winter; even today my feet are a bit cold. Once they are properly cold they will NOT warm up until I get into the bath with them. They don't tingle or hurt during re-warming, As they re-warm in the bath they go dusky (nearly black) in places whilst certain areas remain white and blanched until eventually the blackness goes and the blanched bits all pink up again.

Had this since a child. I hate the winter because I know my feet will just be cold and feel like two disconnected lumps on the ends of my ankles until I can get back home and into the bath!

Watching with interest as I have noticed this too recently, maybe 10 times in 3 months.
