I'm female, 42, overweight, one toddler just turned 2.
The past 3 days I've been exhausted- way worse then having a breastfeeding baby who wakes every 45-60 minutes (for 19 freaking months!). I also ache, everywhere. I hurt peeing, standing up, lying down- everything. I also have a dull ache in my side under my ribs near my breast.
My first thought was chest infection - but although I'm wheezy (I've asthma that doesn't react well to temp changes), it doesn't seem that bad, and I have no temp.
Now obviously I'm going to call the gp in the morning if I still feel bad (it's not an A&E job, and I'm not getting worse so don't feel ooh is needed).
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Oh- no runny nose or anything so not flu (plus I do have to run a round after small, and from what I understand flu means you are bedbound)
Tia

Pneumonia. I felt like this when I got it and I was the same age too....it developed until I couldn't breathe out at all without making a horrendous noise.

GregoryPeckingDuck · 16/04/2019 18:54

Sounds like an infection to me

NicoAndTheNiners · 16/04/2019 18:56

Mastitis?

YeOldeTrout · 16/04/2019 19:01

"virus"

Queenfreak · 16/04/2019 19:02

I'd ruled out chest infection. Bugger.
I wondered about mastitis- small is naturally cutting down feeds. I don't think she'll still be feeding in 6 months.
Thanks, I'll call gp first thing.

Burgh. 'Virus' was my guess too. Which means suck it up buttercup, you'll feel better soon

Kidney infection/severe UTI?

NotSoThinLizzy · 16/04/2019 19:32

I was going to go with uti too. It's always how I feel when I get them

BlueMerchant · 16/04/2019 19:34

My first thought was UTI.

Bobbiepin · 16/04/2019 19:36

Do you have a fever/high temp? Pneumonia would not make you hurt to pee but transferred pain from a kidney infection could feel like chest pain. Any sort of severe infection is unlikely without a temp of 38+

NicoAndTheNiners · 16/04/2019 19:55

ah, I misunderstood the hurt peeing thing. Thought you meant you hurt when sitting (on the toilet) as you went on to say hurt when stood and laid down.

Yes, if it hurts to actually urinate then uti/pyelonephritis.

Queenfreak · 16/04/2019 19:58

Hurt as in aches when I pee- the muscles working
Not actual pain through urination if that makes sense.
So Nico you were right the first time.

Well I have a chest infection.
Which I didn't think I could have without a temp? Seems I can though, hoping I'll be feeling much better 24-48 hours time!

Its unlikely but still possible. Get lots of rest and take the whole course of antibiotics. Seek immediate medical attention if you struggle to breathe, can't stop coughing or have tinged blue lips. Sleeping sitting up, propped up by pillows will help too.

Silvercatowner · 17/04/2019 17:12

Dr Silver says you are poorly and you need to rest. If you aren't better in a few days then consult someone who is a proper doctor.

YeOldeTrout · 17/04/2019 18:26

You've had a Dr appt? Glad you know what to do to get better.

Penguinpandarabbit · 17/04/2019 18:31

Dr Penguin says you need to eat more fish, its the answer to everything. 🐧
