Help! Used Nair and it did a v good job, but in the main creases of my armpits it's sore and a bit weepy. Can't put my arms down and feel a bit like a bird preparing for flight...

What can I put on it, if anything?

Sudocrem or Calamine lotion

SkyBillingIssue · 11/04/2019 21:47

Or after sun if you have any?

PacmansGapingMaw · 11/04/2019 21:50

Sudocrem sounds safe... need to find it!

I'd go for Sudocrem too.

Chemical burns hurt like a bastard, o remember one in an unfortunate place once. The only thing I would do is treat it like a healing burn. Keep it clean and cover it to get the air off for a couple of days and just keep covered during the day, let it air at night for the rest.

But that's me, someone might have a better idea.

TapasForTwo · 11/04/2019 21:56

I have given up on hair removal cream for that reason and just use a Venus razor. I hope you feel better soon.

PacmansGapingMaw · 11/04/2019 21:59

I need a sticker that says 'My First Chemical Burn'. I'm grumpy and sticky.

I did this to my floo! Had used it x100s times before but had a vile chemical burn and my skin wept and stuck to my underwear for the first few days and tore off the healing skin every time I turned over in bed or tried to take my clothes off. Was horrendous! Hoped it would kill the hair follicle in the process but it didn’t GrinBlush

PrincessPee · 11/04/2019 22:05

And yes! Slathering in Sudocrem helped!

3luckystars · 11/04/2019 22:07

Can you get some caldascene powder?

I did this too years ago but elsewhere and took the skin clean off. I had serious burns and couldn't even piss, I had to go to the doctor and get a sick cert.

Even worse, I came back to work and my boss says, 'I heard you got burnt, show me it?' Everyone just stared, I didn't know where to look.
I was just turning redder and redder. (He thought I had been burnt by a kettle or something) I said, I cant show you.
The whole thing was absolutely mortifying.

Try the caldascene.

Bepanthen is another good one to try

Same happened to me as a teen OP, I still remember the pain over 20 years later
