Optic Neuritis

After spending a day in A&E earlier in the week, I have been diagnosed with optic neuritis. It began last week with right eye pain, moved onto flickering lights, then cloudy vision and today my vision in that eye has almost completely gone. The pain is also worse.

The doctor said it would probably get worse for another week or so then start to get better but googling around I am worried that it's going to take much longer. I'm signed off work and obviously can't drive either. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take to resolve? I'm also stressing myself out that it's the beginning of MS. I've got an MRI scan in a few weeks to check. Would be grateful for any reassurance.

Hi Shannon no specific experience but please try not to stress about MS, I too had an MRI and afterwards I was glad it had been done. If there is a problem it can be tackled otherwise you'll be reassured. Some on here might have more experiences to share with you.
