Lansoprazole in pregnancy

Hi, has anyone been able to take lansoprazole during their pregnancy without any scaremongering or complications? I’ve recently switched to omeprazole and it’s causing a lot of pain, reflux and vomiting. All the American medical publications state it is safe in pregnancy but British publications state the opposite.
Any experience would be appreciated.

I took it for about a month. It didn’t work as well for me as omeprazole did, but I had no complications, and the GPs weren’t concerned about giving it to me at all.

Thanks, really helpful 😊

Sorry I can’t be more help! I do remember though that I had been prescribed omeprazole in a previous pregnancy, and was given lansoprazole in my second pregnancy, as apparently omeprazole wasn’t recommended for pregnant women. However, a different GP happily swapped me over to omeprazole when the lansoprazole wasn’t working for me. I think there is just so much caution around drugs in pregnancy because they are not able to test things on pregnant women, but it doesn’t actually mean they are unsafe.
