Cold virus and palpitations

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is this normal??

I very rarely get a cold. In fact probably not had one for a couple of years. It’s hit my asthma, given me a sore throat and head. Usual stuff. Anyway..I can cope with it. But I’m struggling with added palpitations and flutters. As if my heart is pounding and racing. Is this normal when your body is fighting a cold??

I am just getting over an horrendous cold and I had palpitations. Never remember having them with a cold before.

Same here - stuffy cold with horrible sinus swelling in my face - but the palpitations are totally new!

New palpitations should never be ignored. You need to see someone today for full assessment and ECG.

Please don't try to struggle on.

I’m wondering if it’s the decongestants I was taking. Not had them this morning and the palpitations have eased
