My ds has started going to the toilet 3/4 times an hour, he is not drinking anymore and weeing no more than a thimble full each time, he normally had great bladder control.

I dont know if its relevent but at the start of the week we had tonsillitos (sp?) and was on anti-biotics to shift it.

This has happened for 2/3 days now, any advice, call doctor or wait a few days.

breeze I would take him to the GPs along with a sample if you can, if it's a UTI it's best to catch it quickly.

I would call the doctor, is he having pain when he pees.

I thought that only girls could get urinary tract infections, but that what it sounds like to me, Hope that helps

Having said that has he just started school or anything new happening as dd did the exact same thing last year when starting pre school and just before ds was born. GP said it was a very coomon way of anxiety expression, but I still got a UTI ruled out.HTH

boys can also get UTIs as well just not as common as the urinary tract is shorter in females and therefore more prone to bacteria colonisation.

Definitely take a sample to dr if only to rule it out. dd got a uti and ear infection within days of recovering from bronchiolitis and I think that had reduced her resistance to the next bug she came into contact with. Try to get him to drink more, cranberry juice would be good. Has he otherwise got a temperature or pain, or is he suffering too much with the tonsillitis to be able tell what might be the cause.

Ds has gotten over the tonsillitos, and started school yesterday.

I will call the doctor for advice.

Thanks

Ds say the doctor and he said there were not signs of infection. He has told us to keep an eye on it over the weekend and if it continues he was given a sample bottle and we have to take it to the hospital.

It was mildly amusing thou when the doctor asked to see DS willy, he said "no sorry, you cant, your not my mummy or daddy and there are some people out there that like looking at willy's", although we were pleased that DS did listen to us about DS and his private areas (this was after he started getting it out in public), it took a little coaxing to get DS to comply.

LOL breeze, glad he's ok as I said dd did the exact same thing when she started school so maybe it is just that.
