Can anyone feel their lymph nodes?

Just that really, can anyone feel their lymph nodes (without obvious cause)?
I can feel them in my neck, groin and above collar bone (not good I understand from googling Confused) not sure how long they’ve been there, at least 3 weeks but it’s not something I’d generally check unless unwell. I’ve been having some anxiety over other issues which prompted me to check a few weeks ago. I had a cold and sore throat a few weeks ago and a boil on my thigh at about the same time, but not sure this would explain them still being swollen now. They mostly range from pea to kidney bean size, 2 under my throat are much bigger but they’ve been there for years, not sure if they’re lymph nodes or salivary glands.
So can anyone else feel their glands? I’ve got a gp appointment booked but just wondering (hoping!) if some people are just more ‘glandy’ than others?!

Some came up in my neck once, following an infection and they stared up for weeks!

I think you’re doing the right thing in getting yours checked. I don’t know how long is a worrying duration for enlargement

Thanks iVampire.

Dr didn’t seem to concerned, said to come back in a month if they’re still up. Seems a long time to wait, but she was very good so trying to trust her opinion and hope they go down before then!

I've always been able to feel mine. I have one in the side of my neck that came up with a nasty virus I had when I was 6. I'm now 27 and it's still large and if I tilt my head to the side you can see it sticking out. Whenever I am ill now it sticks out like a golf ball. It's just never gone fully back down. I have a smaller one in the other side of my neck. I also have small ones in my groin.

Also if you're slim chances are you will feel them if you poke around enough.

Nothing to worry about unless they grow rapidly, are accompanied by other symptoms or grow quite big and never reduce.

hannah1992 Thanks so much for your response, it has calmed me a little! I’m not particulaly slim, but I think my lymph nodes are quite sensitive and come up pretty easily- so maybe these have always been there and only now I’ve started poking and checking them every day!

I have a few in my groin that are small but palpable as well as one in my jaw, they have been like that for a long long time now. I think they have a name...shoddy nodes?!

I can almost always feel mine I’m my neck. Have done for years.

Mine always come up in my neck when I'm ill and can hang around for weeks. There's one I can almost always feel a little.

Sometimes an odd one will show it's head randomly and then go again later. I get one come up in my groin a lot.

If theyre under your throat and are quite big, they are very likely your salivary glands. You will feel those quite prominently so don't worry about them

jinglebellmel · 08/04/2019 11:51

Thanks all. Yes, I think the big ones under my throat might be my salivary glands.

Mine seem to be up everywhere Confused the more I look the more I find! Really should stop looking I think. I'm getting so paranoid trying to find the cause. Last week I noticed one of my moles had gone a bit funny - GP not too concerned. This week I've noticed one of my breasts is a lot lumpier than the other, so now panicking that is the cause. Hopefully they're all unrelated and benign but its driving me mad!
