Thinking of trying to get a private prescription for some but wondered if it's possible.

I don't think you would get a prescription for it...it is only meant for very short term use i.e. a couple of hours.

You can get it prescribed but it's a nightmare.
I'm nurse prescribed and a community palliative care nurse. We got it for a lady with a recall rumour that had severe pain opening Bowels. We have specialist pharmacists who had to liaise with the dr and supplier and it was all very complex. We did get there in the end but it's far from straight forward.
