Weird breast thing

Hello

I wonder whether anyone else has experienced something like this, and could offer me any advice?

A month or two ago the skin on my shoulder blade and armpit suddenly became really sore. Felt a bit like a burn, but skin looked normal. After a few weeks the soreness died down a lot, but it's still there. Now the breast on that side feels slightly odd. Kind of itchy, occasional shooting pains, slightly tender.

I can't feel any lumps or bumps, but thinking about it I've had shooting pains in that breast on and off for about a year.

I'm mid-forties and post-menopausal. Not on HRT and previously breastfed two babies.

I kind of know that the advice will be to get myself checked out. Do I have to go through my GP or are there other options?

Thank you!

Not had this but I did have a rash on my boob a year or so ago that I got checked out by the doctor because I was worried about inflammatory breast cancer.

They always say any changes get them checked out. As this has been going on for a while it's unlikely to be anything sinister but if there's a cream or something that will sort it then that's better than suffering.

I'd make an appointment to put your mind at rest Smile

I think the gp is the best bet. Don't google 😊

Thanks Tanfastic ...Urgh, I really don't want to go to the doctor's. I'm in the throes of trying to get some help with another ongoing problem, and I think they're already fed up of me!

I don't have a rash, though, just an peculiar sensation in my breast and armpit and shoulder...

They won't get fed up of you if you go to them with a concern about your breast.
