Sleep data from activity trackers

Is there a good way to interpret this info? This sort of display.
I seem to sleep about 6 hrs/night of which maybe 50 min. is 'deep' sleep.
I function fine on amount I get. Just wondering how ordinary or weird my profile is, how would I know. Has anyone researched this a lot?

Do you have a "benchmark" tab? That will show you the average. Your sleep profile looks ok to me.

If you look at the 30 day average it can give you a comparison against people your age I think.

Looks like you get loads more deep sleep than me!

CleverKnot · 26/03/2019 20:28

That's not my profile!
Just a random one I found online.
Oops, sorry, screwed up thread already.

ThIS is one of my profiles, on a good night, when I wasn't awake for 2-3 hours in middle of the night. How do you know if it's looking ok... because there is a range of types of sleep? Would a bad profile be too much deep sleep or all light sleep?

I'm not yet figuring out how to look up benchmark numbers.

The right hand side of the first picture had a benchmark tab you can click on

I've got an 8 week old baby... mine is the most depressing thing ever. I get about 20 mins deep sleep a night. On the occasion I have a better night and more deep sleep I certainly feel better... but I'm not sure what a "good" amount is.

Do you feel well rested when you wake?

CleverKnot · 26/03/2019 20:57

Mostly don't feel well rested when I wake, no. I suspect I sleep fairly badly, but maybe that's not apparent on Fitbit data. It often says I was asleep when I was wide awake, for instance.

Benchmark... only works on 30 days of data, maybe? Doesn't seem to be an option on my dashboard.

Thanks for the help!

The benchmark should be under the graph next to where it says the day.

Can you see on mine ?

Aha! Benchmark is only an option on the phone app (or ipod in my case). Not laptop dashboard. So thanks for that. Useful & probably what I was after.

Last night looks great for Deep Sleep but I know that lots of my awake times get recorded as Light Sleep, so can't trust those numbers. Most of my Deep Sleep #s are not so W@W as this.

1h27 deep sleep is good especially if you are in you 40s or more. 50mns is probably a bit low but if you are functioning OK, that's what matters. It may be that as long you get more than an hour once a week or so, it is enough for you to recover.

swingofthings · 28/03/2019 06:07

Also being awake in the night is normal. It is a problem if you can't get back to sleep within 15-20 mns or you only light sleep after you do. I used to get upset when I started to get up to go to the toilet at night and thecnsfrugglecto get back to sleep until I realised that I was actually getting better deep sleep after this episode than after going to sleep first which is when you should normally get most of it.
