Food intolerance causing tingling hands and face?

So I've taken this same odd reaction several times over the years to: beer (and I think whisky too), irn bru extra, some random cerial bar, and some random vanilla yogurt.

It makes my hands all numb and tingly (as if I have clapped them together hard) and it sometimes also spreads to my face and lower legs. A pins and needles feeling as if the blood circulation is being affected. I've seen it last anything from a few hours to pretty much a whole day.

I've mentioned it to a doctor who dismissively insisted it was an alcohol allergy the second I mentioned beer. Which it obviously isn't as I can drink clear spirts (Malibu and vodka) with no problems. And obviously certain foods cause it too.

I have a feeling it could be to do with a fermenting process. Anyone experience similar symptoms from any foods know what could be the cause?
