Feeling a fake

Can anyone give me a bit of a 'reality check' as my DP thinks I'm just being silly. Had chronic diarrhoea on Thursday night which continued on Friday so I took the day off work. Then during Friday night I woke up with awful back pain, aches all over and there was blood in my wee. I felt awful and got an emergency doctor's appointment. I saw a nurse who tested my wee and said it was likely that I had a kidney infection and it was lucky that I'd come to the surgery. I was given a 10 day course of antibiotics.

All my family are adamant that I should take a week off work. Although I'm feeling a bit better, I'm completely wiped out. So, I phoned to get a sick note so that I could go back to work next Monday. I never take time off work and feel really guilty as cover will need to be found etc. etc. DP brought my sick note home and it said 'suspected' kidney infection. I'm now driving myself mad thinking i'm being a lightweight and should go back to work as it is only a 'suspected' kidney infection.

Anyone offer any words of wisdom as my DP is sick of me going on about it.

You need to rest properly to get better so take the time off.
Your DP sounds like a knob.

How old are you? Surely you know whether you're well enough to go to work.
I don't think you should.
Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Thank you for your kind words- made me feel better. BTW I'm 53 and generally not good at the moment - but trying to buck up a bit. Taking some time time off to get better properly is just what I needed to hear. Thank you
