EAR CANDLES - WOW THEY ARE GREAT

I went to dr's about my earache and clocked ears that I have had for past week and a bit and she said I had so much impacted wax she couldnt see a thing in my right ear, recommended seeing the holistic lady at the surgery. She had an appt free this morning and did the hoki(s) ear candle thing, basically special candle placed in your ear and lit and it draws wax etc up she did both ears and then opened it and showed me and it was disgusting the amount of crap that came out, my earache has gone (was probably pressure from wax)

Cost £18 but that includes a follow up treatment next week and I honestly cant recommend it enough, I cant have my ears syringed due to having lots of operations on my ears when I was little and I can actually hear again (although now seems like everyone especially my not very quiet dd1 is shouting at me) she also does indian head massage/back massage/hot stone therapy etc all really reasonable proces so think I may treat myself once every couple of months to full body massage (£20!!!)

hokey ear candles?

They are a con I'm afraid - I've posted about them before.

If you burn one in a clean jam jar nowhere near your ear and open it up, it'll still be waxy on the inside as the candle itself generates the 'wax' you see.
Experiments here and here.

i've used the hopi ear candles and although i know that they are a con, they do actually make me feel better- mind over matter or something!. and there is no doubt that the wax further down my ears does come up so i can pick it out with a cotton bud without damaging my ears.(TMI i know)

Thats what I have found since having it done, the wax seems to have softened therefore the drops Dr gave me will help unblock and hopefully I'll stop having 'popping' ears
