Awful ear infection

My dad has developed an awful ear infection with severe bleeding from the inner ear following syringe wax removal. He has a tri-purpose spray to use and also oral penicillin. How long should it take to clear? The amount of fluid coming from his ear is horrible and docs can't even see the drum for inflammation.

my son (24) suffers from sever ear infections now waiting on second operation for it, the only thing you can do is finish the course of antibiotics if its not better go back to the doctor, my sons is so bad at the moment that he has to go to hospital once a month to have it cleared out x
