Any opticians about - variable eyesight

I have quite bad eyesight, approx -6 in the right eye and -5 in the left combined shirt sight and astigmatism. Over the past two years, the astigmatism in my left eye has suddenly improved from about -3 to about -0.5. This has meant I keep having to change my glasses where I can't see properly with my left eye. I wear varifocals.

I had the latest change to the left lens about 10 days ago. I'm finding that sometimes I can see almost perfectly with my left eye but a lot of the time, the vision is blurry. We went for a long walk today and I could see brilliantly way into the distance, but now we are home, my left eye is not focussing properly at all. Any idea what is going on here? Thanks.

This is still going on. Left eye sometimes ok, sometimes completely blurry. Opticians slightly adjusted lens but minimal change overall. They say I have no obvious eye diseases. Does anyone have any ideas?

Variations in blood glucose can affect your sight temporarily.

DD2 had this problem but it was related to an unstable replacement lens that was floating.
