Tonsillitus and jaw pain?

I have what I think will be tonsillitus, doctors Monday. White spots on tonsil but what I'm wondering is can this cause jaw and ear pain? I also have a swollen gland under my jaw bone

I've just got over annincresinky bad case of tonsillitis, I even landed in hospitals on a drip nearly having to be admitted.

It caused two ear infections, so now I'm completely deaf in both ears for God knows how long, and I could barely open my mouth or close my teeth together properly, my jaw joints just felt awful!

It definitely has an effect on your ears and jaw. I hope you feel better soon, it really is horrendous.

Your ears, nose & throat are all connected so generally an infection in the throat will spread to the ears & the pain will go down your face, neck or jaw. There seems to be a lot of tonsillitis going around randomly at the moment mixed in with flu unfortunately. Antibiotics usually help with tonsillitis. Hope you feel better soon.

I’ve had Quincy a few times - an abscess behind the tonsil opportunistic andnoften linkednwith tonsillitis. What you describe reminds me of it a bit. Problems turning head, pain up into ear, swollen neck on that side, very painful. etc. Started as more normal tonsillitis. In the end I had trouble breathing and they had to cut it without anaesthetic. Awful. Then emergency tonsillectomy. Sorry if tmi.
Good you are seeing doc. In meantime best over counter things to help generally - strefen lozenges and difflam gargle. Until you get anything on prescription if needed.
Good luck op. Throat things are awful. It will be over at some point.
