Is this a tummy bug?

I started feeling sick on Tuesday afternoon, so about 48 hours ago. I was making DD's tea and the smell of it was making me heave. Since then I've had an upset tummy- I haven't been sick but have had a small amount of diarrhoea. My stomach is churning and gurgling after I eat and is painful. I tried not eating anything today but then I felt hungry and then I think that made it worse. I never get an upset tummy usually and I never vomit but does this just sound like a bug? Rest of family seem fine. Mum suggested IBS but it seems a bit extreme for it to suddenly come out of the blue.

Sounds like a mild stomach bug to me yes. Try to eat plain things only, toast, bananas that kind of thing.

I had something like that last week. It didn't get any worse, and went away after a couple of days. I found that eating toast and plain food seemed to help a bit.

I ate some tea and then had a terrible pain very low down, like trapped wind but it wasn't IYSWIM. It's definitely my guts as opposed to tummy. I'm also bloated (I look pregnant according to DH. Great. Thanks for that). It's eased off now though so I wonder if, as you've suggested, eating small light things like toast is best for now. Just having some peppermint tea. Thanks all.

Yeah, I constantly felt like I had trapped wind, and I was a bit bloated. Small amounts of plain food didn't cause too many issues, and it went away after a few days.
