Low folate

I've had some blood tests as feeling pretty rubbish lately - mainly fatigue, poor skin/hair, brain fog, low mood. I'm already on levothyroxine for hypothyroidism.

All came back normal (including TFT) except folate which is 2.8 (reference 3.8-999)

B12 is normal (473, reference 197-771) as is ferritin (69, reference 13-150)

I have a follow up appointment next week, but can anyone advise whether the GP is likely to do anything? Everything j read online seems to tall about B12 and folate together. FWIW I already take a B12 supplement

Thanks

I should think they will prescribe folic acid tablets. It is important to check B12 if your folate is low because prescribing folic acid could mask symptoms of B12 deficiency. But if your B12 is OK then folic acid tablet is the way to go as low folic acid can cause a number of unpleasant symptoms.
