DD3 is on her third cold in three months (as am I). She attends nursery three days a week and the GP said that all the different strains she's exposed to means she's just had some bad luck. What can I do to help her? She's coughing and snuffly now. Before that she just had a severe runny nose and a lot of mucus (plus viral conjunctivitis). Before that, bronchiolitis.

I've tilted the bedside cot, she hasn't got a temperature, she's weaning normally on food and taking bottles well but is generally just full up. Saline solution doesn't seem to do much of anything, nor do baby vapour drops in hot water or the steam in the bathroom from a hot shower running.

Is there anything you've tried to make a baby this young more comfortable or am I just going to have to live with us having cold upon cold during the winter months in nursery?

I think it's just the combination of her being a winter baby, so little and already at nursery 3 days a week (not said with any judgement btw!).

You're doing everything I would have suggested anyway

Thank you! I'm going to take her to the GP if she gets any worse or shows no improvement by Thursday. I have two days off during the week, tomorrow and Thursday with her so lots of cuddles in the warm and NO OTHER BABIES.

I feel your pain. My DS has been constantly poorly ever since starting nursery. The ANPs at my surgery all just say it's part and parcel of nursery...
