Front tooth dental implant crown :(3

Hi guys, I'm in a bit of a state here. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place etc ..

Long story short, I lost a front tooth due to traffic accident and I got a dental implant placed to replace said tooth last October which went very well with minimal pain/no concerns. The dentist is a super duper specialist in this area/own successful practice/good reviews and recommended by my own dentist etc etc

Anyway like I said I went ahead and got implant placed in October 2018 with temp tooth put in which looked amazing . Said I wanted the final to look the same as the shape was brilliant! All healed well and pain free so went back for my final crown to be put on 3 weeks ago but it couldn't be done due to wrong parts so booked in for couple weeks time, couldn't be done then either as crown was damaged, so another wasted trip and another appointment booked in... Anyways I went back and finally got the tooth put on along with a veneer for the other front tooth as that was damaged only slightly too. The dentist showed me the teeth in the mirror and my heart sank ☹️ the veneer looked okay but the crown was longer and a different shape and my tooth next to that one needed a small filling to close a small gap (wasn't ideal but not too bothered about that as looks okay) anyway once the numbness wore off I could feel the veneer pushing my lip out slightly and it's really REALLY annoying me now. When I smile and look up slightly I can see the two teeth aren't flush and the veneer material is much bulkier (iyswim) I have spent the best part of almost 4k on these teeth and I feel like I've messed up hugely by saying they looked okay at the final fitting appointment when I was numb and to be honest just anxious as hell and at the end of my tether with these teeth 😢😢 I have had the weekend with them now and I just feel like they aren't the shape I wanted and and feel comfortable and I just hate that I'm stuck with them at the age of 31 for the foreseeable. I feel so low and like crying I'm so depressed about it all now.

Can any dentists or anyone who has had a similar thing happen give me any advice? Is it even possible to change this now they've been cemented on? I cannot afford to replace them all at my expense as I have small children etc and only earn a small wage .
I must add I could perhaps live with and make myself get used to the crown and the shape as it's now pain free/comfortable but still now the final shape I wanted but the veneer is just not comfortable and flush , the dentist said that sometimes we can be too critical at final fitting but to be honest I don't see why the crown can't be the same as the temp and I've spent alot of money so I feel I can be critical and want final results to be best they can 😓
It's all so shit

I would go back and see the dentist with my concerns. I had a kickass friend who had her crowns reprigmented and fitted 4 times by her dentist (at no extra cost to her) as she wasn't totally pleased. Make sure you aren't charged.

Absolutely go back! You are a customer who paid a load of money, you should be completely satisfied with what you paid for. I am always astonished when I see posts on here from people who pay for a haircut they are not keen on - this is the same x 100. You are a walking advert for this dentist, and he or she would not want you looking, or feeling, crap or telling people they did a shit job. If a plumber installed a dodgy bathroom in your home I bet you wouldn’t think twice about asking for it to be rectified...

I had a veneer fitted on one of my dead and blackened root canal tooth a few years back. The front tooth. I was in the same boat, saved up and was a considerable amount. The temporary filling was fine made from whatever material dentist use. I was so excited to finally get the veneer. I remember looking at the fitted veneer and being in absolute shock but said nothing as I thought I’d go home and see it properly. Maybe my expectations had been too high.

The veneer was bulky, long and was catching on my mouth. It was also whiter and stood out far too much. I remember sitting in my car crying thinking omg I’ve made a major mistake and I’d rather have the blackened tooth back! Considering I had the tooth so filed down I was panicking thinking it completely ruined it!!. My family said the same...what on Earth have you done. I took many pics and it was horrific! I couldn’t understand what the dentist (a veneer specialist) had done.

I rang up and made an appointment as soon as possible explaining I wasn’t happy. Had to spend a weekend with this horrific mess and was sooo self conscious. I had been so excited and now didn’t even want to leave the house. As soon as I walked back into dentist she said ‘I believe you aren’t happy’ and I had to be really really honest. Explained everything. I had to have the veneer taken off, it wasnt a nice procedure but I hated it and just needed it gone! I had the temporary material fitted again and said I want a more flush veneer and not as long. The dentist knew by my face I was devastated.

Anyhow a week later new veneer fitted again and much much better. She really listened to me and made it fit better. I’m so glad I complained.

I say this to give you assurance. You need to be honest, your dentist has a reputation to keep. I wasn’t charged a penny and actually the dentist gave me a big hug when it was all sorted. My teeth were a big deal and it was a major expensive so like me please rang that dentist, explain and get this sorted it should be easy for them to sort. Better consultation and understanding to get you what you want. Good luck!

These are my veneers. My choice to have them and totally cosmetic. I hated them and cried for days at first. Went back a week later and told my dentist they were too big and chunky, too square and I looked like a horse. He rounded the edges to give a more feminine look and told me they wouldn’t feel so weird once the swelling had calmed down. He was right. Took about a month for me to not notice them anymore
