What is going on with my period?

Last month it was nearly a week late and lighter than usual.
This month it was 2 days early and much lighter than usual. I usually have extremely heavy bleeding with large clots. This month was light, watery and had no clots at all and I bled for 2 days instead of 5.
Do I go to the gp or will they just tell me to wait and see if next month is better?
My period is normally very regular and uniformed in its behaviour.
I don't want to waste my GPS time if it's nothing.

Is there any potential that you're pregnant? Some people experience light bleeding at the time they would have expected their period, in the first trimester. It's probably something the GP would ask so would be worth excluding before you rang them

How old are you? I'm in my 40s and finding mine slightly inconsistent (sometimes shorter and lighter and occasionally ridiciculously heavy). I'm assuming this is some sort of permenopausal phase.

I had this for two months, I bled twice in one month but both very light and then same the month after, spoke to my doc and they asked if I could be pregnant. I said no due to being on the pill. They did a pregnancy test to rule it out and ones 4 weeks pregnant, not saying that's the case for you but that's my experience. I'm now 10 weeks x

Im only 30 so hoping it's not menopause.
Me and do aren't using protection but haven't been for some time so I doubt in pg but I'll check tomorrow. I took a load of medication today which would be a worry if I am pg hasn't really thought if that.

@StickyCarpet if you're not using protection then it's a very strong possibility! If you didn't want to be pregnant, you really should have been using contraception. Or was it an 'if it happens, it happens' sort of arrangement? Anyway, hope you get the result you want! Will you take a test today?

emmagrace96 · 12/03/2019 08:33

Just because you've not been using protection for a while and nothing's happened doesn't mean it's impossible for you to of gotten pregnant! I hope you get the result you want. I wouldn't worry about medication. Lots of women do lots of things they shouldn't do before they are aware their pregnant X

StickyCarpet · 12/03/2019 20:16

We are just seeing what happens with the lack of contraception......I only have 1 tube so don't think we are going to find it very easy to get pregnant.
I did a test and it was negative which I expected.
I'll see what my period is like next month and if it's weird I'll make an appointment with the gp. Just completely different to what it's normally like.
