I work with horses 3 days per week part time and the work is hard and strenuous, i have been doing it for about 6 months now. However this past week or so i have been extremely achy - it started creeping in with my wrists, which is a funny place as never had pain here before, they where really aching and felt sore. Then the day after it was my feet - well the front part of the bottom of my legs where the foot joins the front of the leg if that makes sense. Then my back (shoulder blade regions where aching. This was okay whilst i was working, its when i stop it really really hurts, especially at night. The wrist pain went for a day or so then flared up - then about 2 nights ago i had a really sore muscle pain on my left leg below the knee on the inner calf - i couldnt move my leg without being in heaps of pain. Then i woke up and it went. Last night i woke with the pain in my feet area again and this morning i felt okay. However i have just stood up from sitting down and my feet are really painful, i can hardly walk and its mega sore to touch and the one part of my foot looks a bit swollen. Its really weird as just appeared over this past week, its not like an injury its like a really horrible muscle type cramp pain :( ideas?

There are a whole host of possible causes. Fibromyalgia is in the main a diagnosis of exclusion you rule out other causes and also satisfy certain criteria. I have three autoimmune conditions that cause chronic pain and fatigue, Mixed connective tissue disease, fibro and pernicious anaemia.

Your pains are similar to my mixed connective tissue disease pains, but there are several other very similar autoimmune diseases.

Oh yes I am always told to wait 2 weeks when what seems to be a flare starts as a viral infection can cause similar infections, but will self resolve in around 14 days.

Have you had any stomach bugs recently? They can cause a reactive arthritis which flits from joint to joint.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition. You need to see your GP.
