Migraines and beta blockers

I'm pretty desperate for help. I used to take amitriptyline for migraines but panicked about long term risks. After a couple of years the migraines came back worse than ever. After a 12 day migraine I asked for the meds back. Gp wanted to try beta blockers. Oh my god they make me feel like utter shit, it's been 2 weeks I am groggy exhausted and have this weird sort of vague headache that's down my neck. Lifting my arms above my shoulders is really painful.

I need to know if I should stick with it or go back to gp

After many different drug trials (including beta blockers) I've found amitriptylene to be the only drug that controls my chronic daily migraine.

I'm on 35mg though - how much are you taking/we're taking??

There are lots of migraine preventatives to try so if the propanalol is making you feel lousy as k for a different one. You could go back on the ami it seesm to work well for most people once they reach a therapeutic dose.
