Pink discharge after intercourse. Should I be concerned? Sorry if TMI.

Had last AF two weeks ago lasting about 6 days. Last night DH and I BD'd. I went to the bathroom afterwards, like you do, and when I wiped myself with paper there was a pinkish discharge almost like the end of AF. Thankfully there is nothing to see today. We weren't "rough" IYKWIM and this has never happened to me before. I know for sure that it wasn't from DH. Anyone had this problem before and did you seek medical advice for it. Not sure if I should or maybe wait and see if it happens again next time.

Happened to me and turned out to be early stage changes to the cervix (not cancer). Had to have several repeat smears and eventual treatment. Clear of changes but then had same thing because of cervical erosion probably because of the earlier treatment. Whatever it is it needs GP attention and a smear test.

Thank you for replying Hurricane. Sorry to hear that you have been through a worrying time but glad to hear that it turned out ok for you. Everything seems fine with me today so I am hoping that it wasn't anything to worry about.

I had something similar a few months ago and went to GP for a smear - turned out to be a (benign) cervical polyp which was being aggravated during sex. It's very common apparently and doesn't necessarily need any treatment (I didn't have any and pink discharge has since stopped). I'd get myself down to your GP if I were you, if only to put your mind at ease.

Can't be bothered to name change this time. It's happened again. I never went to GP last time just kind of put it down to a one off and thought I'd see how things were next time.
I phoned NHS direct this morning and they have suggested I phone my GP on Monday and get an appointment to see him. They have said if things worsen between now and then to phone them back.
I'm so worried. I know it could be something minor but I hate playing this waiting game.

Could be a cervical erosion - this is a raw patch on the cervix that can bleed after sex.

It needs looking at - the GP or practice nurse can do a smear and a swab and have a look at the cervix, and if it looks affected they might refer you to gynae just to be extra cautious.

if your last period was 2 weeks ago,it could be ovulation.this happened to me 2 weeks ago.i've never had it before but was right mid cycle and noticed some pink after sex when i went to the toilet.took morning after pill sharpish,ahd have just come on 15 days later!! phew!!

Thanks TM. Glad to hear you were ok in the end. Bleeding has stopped now but it did this last time. Just waiting for Monday now and hopefuly GP can put my mind at rest.

Gaaaaaaaah!!
Phoned surgery this morning. All appointments booked up. Told to call after 3pm and they would get me in at some point this afternoon. (No idea what that was about but hey-ho! )
Phoned at 3pm told to go up at 5.10pm. Saw Dr. He told me that it sounded like nothing to worry about and that I was too young for it to be anything sinister. He said I would need an internal examination just to rule things out. Then went on to tell me that he wouldn't be examining me today as his list was running late. . Not sure if it might have been because there was no nurse around to be with him whilst he examined me - think they have to do that these days. Had to make another appointment to see a female GP late tomorrow afternoon. What a waste of time today was.
So - not much further forward. I'm still worried sick not just because of what things could turn out to be but because I'd thought examination would have been over and done with today and now I have to think about it again tonight and all day tomorrow.

Try not to worry. The main thing to remember is that changes to the cells of the cervix are very slow so it is very unlikely to be anything serious and very easily treatable. Not very pleasant but very common and easily resolved.

I'm going through the same thing... periods was 2 weeks ago, last night we had sex (not rough) went to the toliet to clean up and the was pink stuff on the toliet paper.... never happend before... nerves are at 100!!

Same boat, but my smear came back normal yday. I think I might have erosion . Will see what Gp says.

I know original post was 07 but had a few reply in March I see. I had a borderline 3 yrs ago and a clear one in jan this year. Had sex and last night was a few strains of pink in three bits. Worried but wondering if just irritation as have been active last few minutes in a row. Think I am due on in 14 days

Hello! today is sunday april 19 th and i last had sex on the 12 th. i masterbated yesterday and went pee right after but when i wiped i saw pink disscarge and i saw it today also but the last 2 times i’ve gone to the bathroom there was no pink discharge. what does this mean
