i asked a nurse the other day same question(whilst at an appointment for something else) she suggested docs appointment would be the best route to go.

Pripsen is suitable for under twos, but you have to work out the amounts and make it up accordingly...I had this a few months ago, ds was 19 mths, and i was still breastfeeding. The nurse originally suggested just really good hygeine would clear it in 6 weeks, but it didnt so spoke to pharmacist. and remember to clean all the little ones toys.....and chuck the toothbrushes too

Can you get Pripsen OTC?

Yes, you can get it otc. I took it whilst pregnant (ok'd by OB), just in case, when dd1 had an itchy rear end - no idea if it works, as no real idea if we had worms in the first place, but it wasn't too nasty to take!

Yes, Pripsen's the one, got some yesterday from Boots for ds2, 12m, and myself (bf).
Nappy changes are a bit spooky, scared to look!

SlightlyMadSalmon · 08/07/2007 16:51

Couldn't get any at our Boots or Sainsbury's pharmacy...

How annoying, you did ask did you SMS?, they keep it behind the counter.
Maybe there's a really bad worm epidemic in your area!

SlightlyMadSalmon · 08/07/2007 21:59

YEs I did ask. Sainsburies got a bit confused and said I couldn't get anything w/o prescription for under 2s. As she wasn't convincing and I thought I had seen it at an online pharmacy I walked into town to a bigger boots and they only had ovex and a boots own for over 2's.

I will try the village pharmacy tomorrow if not order it online I think.
