I eat a 'normal' diet. I eat bread, occasional cakes and potatoes etc.
I also eat plenty of fruit and veg. I've never been overweight so haven't worried about it.
My partner has struggled with his weight and for the last few months has been on a strict low carb diet. He's done well and lost a lot of weight.
He measures his ketones with one of those expensive breath monitors (Ketonix). They are supposed to be really accurate.
I had a go of it, out of interest and my ketone level was really high. Almost as high as his! I had eaten a high carb breakfast and ate loads yesterday.
If I ever eat a lot of sugar, I get wobbly/sweaty/shakey/weak a few hours later but it goes as soon as I eat something. I googled this and found it to be 'reactive hypoglycemia'.
Could this mean diabetes?
I used to drink a lot of alcohol but don't anymore. Could I have wrecked my pancreas?
