Thyroid symptoms

Hoping a thyroid guru might be able to help here!!

I’ve been experiencing some odd symptoms, namely hot at night (sweaty between boobs and occasionally behind knees Blush) and a faster than normal heart rate. TSH year at GP came out at 0.8, and I had a follow up test with medichecks which gave the attached results.

Is there such a thing as a slightly overactive thyroid?

Sweating at night is worse the day or two before my period, and then just as my period ends.

I’m 37 and am breastfeeding an almost 2 year old who feeds at night. Been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for the last 7 years, 2 year old is my third (and last!!).

I would be so grateful for any insights wise mumsnetters!!

Thank you.

Should also add - i’m a healthy weight, 5,5 and weight 8.5ish stone. Weight fell off following each pregnancy, have always been lucky in that department and can pretty much eat what I like though aware that might change with age!!

I'm definitely not a thyroid guru, but my THS came back as 0.8 and my GP said it was perfect. I didn't have the other thyroid tests you've had though, and those look on the high end of the normal range.

It looks like your iron result has been flagged. Is it low? I wonder whether that could be causing your symptoms, or maybe hormones? Have your periods settled back into a regular cycle now you're breastfeeding less? 37 is on the young side for perimenopausal symptoms, but not unheard of.

Like you, I spent several years either pregnant or breastfeeding (2 miscarriages and 2 healthy babies who each breastfed for 2 years). My periods did come back after DC2 stopped feeding so much, but then they abruptly stopped and never came back. I was only a few years older than you.

Not trying to alarm you, but might be worth looking in to?

Thanks for your reply Blackink. I did have a hormone blood test done but the sample was mid cycle which may have not been the best time. Levels were normal.

My hb iron has always been normal apart from when pregnant, but ferritin has been low which could be linked.

Those thyroid results look spot on to me. Everything is in range and in the right places in the ranges.

What about your other results? Anything out of range or right up at one end or the other?
