Weird toes

Hi, I have always had really weird toes. They are really long and naturally point upwards (see attached photo which is my foot at rest). I have size 9 feet mainly because I have really long toes. The last year I have had plantar fascitis and I am wondering if it is maybe linked to the shape of my foot. Has anyone got any experience if this?

My toes are stumpy and a size 4.
I also suffer.

Yup ..bet you have high arches too ?. My feet are very similar (toes out of the top of my feet, not the ends snd the same resting position ...but I have diddy size 3.5 feet) apparently its because the tendon is tight which pulls your toes up. Apparently the Plantar Facilitis is also common in people with high arches and tight tendons (I can feel it under the arch of my foot if I stretch my toes up like your picture). What helped with the PF was wearing a shoe with a 1 inch heel, maybe slightly higher for big feet, so my toes were flattter when walking...rather than walking on the balls of my feet or heels as you would in totally flat shoes. Nice to know there’s a fellow sufferer !

Thanks. I mainly have the plantar fasciitis under control by wearing orthopaedic insoles with Dr Martens most of the time. However as my job requires me to wear dresses / suits a lot of the time this can look a bit ridiculous.

Did you have your insoles made for you, specifically for your feet?

I had the same upward-pointing toes (and very high arches), and I kept 'going over' my ankles and spraining them. As it kept happening, my ankles were getting weaker. I was scared to wear shoes and was always wearing boots.

Eventually I went to a place that does gait analysis. I had insoles made for me, and I now walk with my toes down and engaged, my balance is better and I haven't turned over my ankles since.

Doesn't look like a special foot, OP.

Some lovely but peculiar toes (not like OP's).
