Hi, has anyone had their gallbladder removed? How long does it take to get back to normal activities afterwards? Also, unfortunately we booked a skiing holiday beforehand (don't have date for surgery yet but trying to get it done asap) how long after op would you feel up to skiing? Any help much appreciated!

A couple of months but YMMV.

Can you postpone the surgery until after the holiday?

It took me 3 weeks to feel up to skiing after my op. I live near a ski resort so it was easier for me to wait and see but 3 weeks might not be enough depending on how the op went etc.

A couple of months?? Not unless you have serious complications. I was up and about the next day doing light housework.

I had MRSA and felt crap for a while.

I was up and about but not fit for work so I guess not fit for skiing. I was driving and doing stuff after a week but was on heavy duty antibiotics for ages.
