Hey, so this is a bit of a long one and I'm looking for a bit of reassurance if that's possible.
I gave birth to my daughter via c section on 28th Jan this year, last Wednesday (9 days postpartum) I was admitted to hospital with suspected sepsis after spiking a fever very quickly.
I was in hospital until Saturday lunchtime, the first night (Wednesday) I spent without my daughter which was awful, I was so anxious and upset. I was attached to an IV for 48 hours and had 6 or 8 doses of 2 different types of antibiotics via IV. I then had 24 hours of Clindamycin orally.
I was sent home with 4 more days of clindamycin.
I suffer from anxiety and depression and whilst I was in hospital I was extremely anxious, so much so my partner had to stay with me for the 3 days, including overnight. I required lots of reassurance from the nurses and doctors, although I am still not sure what my infection was. I think it was either UTI or wound/uterine infection, I am assuming it wasn't sepsis as I would have been in longer and I would have thought they would want some sort of follow up to check the infection was gone.

Anyway, I am very anxious that now I have finished the antibiotics have finished that the infection will come back and I will end up admitted to hospital. The hospital staff said to call my gp if I feel unwell again however I didn't feel unwell until I spiked the temperature. I had seen the midwife the morning I was taken ill and all my lbs including temp had been ok, it was very sudden onset.
I am prone to urine infections so I have urine dip sticks at home, I dipped my urine today and it showed ere was blood in it but I am still bleeding after birth so don't know if that has contaminated the specimen as there are no other markers.

I guess I am looking for someone to say that because I had all the IV antibiotics and then 5 days of oral antibiotics I'll be ok. My partner is back at work now so wouldn't be able to stay with me and I am worried about the anxiety coming back if I have to go back in, plus I have been discharged by my midwife (all happened very fast day) and if I had to go back in I'd be put on a general ward and wouldn't be able to have my baby with me which would be awful.
I was just wondering if anyone had any similar experience and if their infection righted themselves or if it was ongoing.

Thanks for reading
