Blood when going to loo...when to see gp

Nhs advice is to go if symptoms persist for 3 weeks. It also lists occasions where it might be more serious but i don't fit those circumstances. But 3 weeks seems a long time..

TMI....

Blood with small clots when wiping and in loo. Red blood. Similar level to period but once or twice a day so not great loss overall.

Had a few days of nausea indigestion, heartburn when it started but seems unlikely to related. I get bouts of bad stomach on and off, not serious.

Would you wait 3 weeks? I'm dithering because I followed nhs website similar advice regarding sore throat and gp said i should have come earlier.

No, I absolutely wouldn't. I'd phone the surgery in the morning. Will your GP talk to you on the phone if you can't get an appointment.
Btw if it's bright red blood from the anus that's not serious or wasn't for me, but you have it checked out anyway.

If you are worried, go to the GP. You’ve got nothing to lose by doing so and it’s much better to be safe than sorry. They aren’t going to tell you off for coming before the three weeks is up. Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing.

Go to the go. I wouldn’t wait 3 weeks.

*gp

I don't know if I'm worried but it does seem odd.
It feels like once a year in take myself to gp and then feel sheepish because it's nothing. I guess they must get it a lot.

I wouldn't wait three weeks with those symptoms, no.

whocaresalot · 13/02/2019 00:27

They really, really won’t judge you if it turns out to be nothing. One visit a year is probably far less than a lot of people!

mrbob · 13/02/2019 00:37

I am a doctor. Go to the GP. Don’t wait 3 weeks

switchedtooverload · 13/02/2019 00:37

I might try get an appointment if i dont sound like a total time waster.
(Although something like haemorrhoids that im not aware of sounds most likely.)
