CT results

So, I had an endoscopy/ colonoscopy yesterday for pain under my lower left rib & back. Results came back clear with just mild inflammation in an area of my stomach. Happy days. I also had a CT scan of my abdomen and pelvis. I called the CT department today to see when the results would be back to my GP. The secretary said the report was done and she would fax the results to my GP within the hour. Didn’t really think that would happen but decided to call my Gp’s surgery and sure enough they were there !
Asked if Doc could call me but was told I had to make an appointment to discuss results on Thursday. Starting to get a bit tetchy now!!
Has anyone had a similar experience and results turned out to be fine ? Not based in the UK. TIA.

I suspect that as it has been sent back to GP (rather than straight to a specialist), and as the GP does not seem to need to talk to you very urgently, it's probably nothing serious.

I don’t think we can comment from the UK as it entirely depends what country you are in and what the system is. If the only point of contact is your GP and you haven’t actually seen a specialist so far, then the results would have to go back to the GP. If you were in the UK then I might suspect the results might not be normal as seeing and discussing the results within a two day window would be a bit of a quick turnaround (not saying it never happens though), but if you have directly funded healthcare then that might be more usual.

I recently had both a CT and a MRI scan and in bothe cases I received a letter to see my GP for the results after just a couple of days. I had been led to believe it would be 2 weeks so obviously I started panicking. As it happens both were clear. So try not to read too much in these things.
