Spotting

Obviously I know what it is but I mean what does it actually look like?

Over the last 21/2 years I’ve had maybe 3 incidents where around the time of ovulation I had had a small strand of blood in my discharge - literally one strand on the loo roll then nothing. Would you class this as spotting? I have had a clear smear, but also been told I have a cervical ectropian. These incidents also seem to coincide with stressful times or when I’m really anxious. 2 out of the 3 times I’ve also been on antibiotics (I have severe health anxiety so when I’m ill I go into horrible anxious episodes). I also have no bleeding after sex or anything.

Just looking for some advice really, is it most likely being caused by the ectropian or ovulation or a combination of both?

Hey, ovulation can cause a very small bleed and if your saying it’s just a strand or two that sound exactly right. It’s the same with implantation, I had those little strands when I implanted with both my dd’s. I have had it once or twice over the years with ovulation it’s just something to do with how the eggs released. It may also be caused by the ectropian, that can cause small bleed too but it sounds too coincidental it’s around the same time you ovulate. Ectropian bleeds tend to be when your cervix is aggravated during sex or something and many women who have it don’t bleed at all. Again, ectropian as you prob know is nothing to worry about it’s just part of how you were made up.
I don’t think they would be connected in anyway, they’re different parts/processes etc. As long as your smears are clear you’ve nothing to worry about xx
