Have gp appt on Friday. Have wonderful range of symptoms. Wanna guess what I've got? - I'll let you know on Friday. Winner getts, oh I don't know. Chocolate or something. Probably.

1 Swelling in armpit that is the size of my cupped hand

2 bouts of pins and needles when doing things like washing up, sewing, writing, peeling potatoes

3 aching neck

4 very painful when you prod me. All over, but especially bad on bad, thighs and sides - I scream! and it hurts for ages

5 numbness and cold feeling in arms and sometimes legs. (comes and goes)

6 feeling hot, feeling cold, feeling like cold water is being run under my skin

7 bloody knackered. falling asleep everywhere, with no notice, unable to stay awake

8 chest feeling tight, like someone has me in a bear hug (comes and goes)

9 very very bad mood. (worse than usual)

10 dropsies. - usually with pins and needles. Hands fall to sides and things drop through my fingers. A good shake can normally restore feeling, although a couple of days ago I was numb all day.

Now, being an obsessive nutter, I googled these and random combinations of these, but frankly, it could be anything.

So to take my mind off the fact I have galloping green lurgie or something, why not hazard a guess with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am taking paracetamol. Should I change?

Oh and I read a bit in a magazine today about carpel tunnel syndrome and it said that gives you pins and needles. Could it be that do you think?

Hi, how are you today?

Carpal Tunnel info.

With carpal tunnel you will ony get P&N in your thumb, index and middle fingers (palm side), so if you have syptoms eleswhere in the hand or further up in the arm it's unlikely the problem is with the nerve as it passes into the hand. Nerve root irritation (where the nerve exits the spinal cord) can give syptoms further down the arm. I think this is probably what your GP is thinking it is as you have neck pain aswell. (Although with nerve root pain you don't normally get the running water symptoms).

Ibuprofen is fine (make sure you check info on the box for contraindications) as it has an antiinflammatory effect as well as analgesic. Paracetamol fine to take as well but that will just help with pain relief. Phone your GP and ask for a telephone consultation if you have questions about pain medication.

I'm ok thanks. Still sufferin' [moaner] ! Ta for that link. It doesn't sound very like it, cos there are other symptoms, but i do have to shake my arm to get the feeling back.

Anyway, will see what the physio thinks. Main prob at mo is the neck pain. It makes me feel like I need to throw up! Everything else I can cope with.

Will send dh for Ibuprofin.

If you want, I'll update here after Thursday with what the physio says.

Thank you . Hope things improve over the weekend.

i hope you feel better soon - did you know you can take paracetemol and ibruprofen together, a nurse at the hospital when i had gall stones (owwwwwww) told me they can work synergistically (spelling!) , which means they sort of have a positive effect on each other and work even better, if that makes any sense. ibruprofen will be good for anti-inflammatory and paracetemol will do the pain too.
