Waiting on hysterectomy pre op date......

Hi all! So after suffering with horrendous periods for many years and various things not working it has now been decided that a hysterectomy will be the best course of action to take. I was referred to a private hospital as an nhs patient and had my consultation about 3 weeks ago. I've been told that I will receive an appointment for the pre op and then the actual hysterectomy will be arranged from there. I'm just wondering how long it's taken for people to get their pre op appointment through? I'm usually quite a patient person but this wait is killing me for many reasons!! Anyone else been in this situation and can remember how long the wait was for the appointment to come through? TIA xx

Can't remember. I would ring the hospital and ask to speak to your consultant's secretary. She will be able to give you more info and she may be able to give your date!

I think it really varies nhs trust to nhs trust, current times etc. I think my initial op date was two months after the decision. But I put it back a month for family reasons. The pre op date stayed the same and would have been a couple of days before the op iirc. If I hadn't moved the date. That was 3 1/2 years ago.

Also I think it depends on severity of problems arising from your condition. For eg I had very low haemoglobin levels. But not suspected cancer.
