Post nasal drip causing sore throat

I had a cold three weeks ago. I now have a post nasal drip, I feel like I'm swallowing pints of mucous, my throat is on fire! However I can breath clearly through my nose. I have a bit of ear pressure and that's it. I don't feel ill.
GP said no antibiotics needed but to buy Beconaise steroid nasal spray. It hasn't made any difference.
I've had Sudofed, antihistamines , paracetamol.

What else can I take? Is there anything I can do to make it clear up faster? Everything I have read seems to focus on blocked nostrils, which I don't have.

Any suggestions welcome please.

Salt water nasal spray. It’s disgusting but it helped me a lot. My nose wasn’t blocked either. Oh and drink lots of water. Don’t know why it helps but it does.

Thanks User. I'd assumed as my nose wasn't blocked it would not work. Will buy some as soon as the pharmacy opens.
