Milk diet?

I’m due to have gallbladder removed in next few months and surgeon advised that for two weeks before I can only consume four pints of semi skimmed milk a day, an Oxo cube drink, and tea/coffee/sugar free squash (plus a multivitamin and laxative due to lack of fibre). No food whatsoever. This is to shrink the liver to make keyhole surgery easier (I have high BMI).

Has anyone ever done the milk diet? How did you find it? Was it hard? And how much weight did you lose?

No answer from me but another question : what happens if surgery is cancelled on the day? How long do you carry on with the diet?

I’m going private so don’t think it’ll be cancelled... Otherwise I don’t know!

@EffOffStomachPain
Quick question for you, is it whole milk or skimmed you have been told to use?

Good luck with the op BTW

MargotSimpson · 22/02/2019 06:58

@oigetoffmycheese semi skimmed. Why do you ask?

EffOffStomachPain · 22/02/2019 06:59

Name change fail

Thanks. Just wondered as have seen this sort of diet before and was shocked at how much weight my colleague lost.
