Should I ring the doctor

Ok, I have been a dick. I have a really heavy cold and my sinuses are blocked, I have earache and teeth pain and aching, I have not been sleeping because of the pain (and the coughing and nose blowing). I bought some Tesco blocked nose relief capsules yesterday with Phenylephrine hydrochloride and didn’t read the instructions.

It says to take 1 tablet every 6 hours and not to exceed 4 in 24 hours. I didn’t read this and have taken 2, I have had 8 in 24 hours. I feel fine, no worrying symptoms but went onto the website and have scared myself silly. Should I ring the doctor or will I be fine? I have been taking them with paracetamol.

Could a pharmacist offer advice?

I would have assumed that an over the counter med wouldn't be dangerous - but the data sheet says Dr or A&E, straight away. Even if there is no signs of problems, or no obvious side effects .

Sorry, OP, I think you need medical attention, now.
Doesn't mean you won't be ok, bit you really need to get this checked out asap

If it's hard to get a response from Drs surgery, you could ring A&E, and ask them if you should go in.

Hope you're feeling a bit better and you don't have side effects.

Hope you feel better soon.

Phew, nurse rang she said I will be fine and not to take any more for 24 hours. Lesson learnt!
