Growing Pains in Adults

I have had "growing pains" in my legs for the last few years. They only hit me when I am lying down and sometimes when I am just sitting. Once I stand up, the pain subsides. It has gotten worse over the years where I now have it every night. I will often shake my legs and that seems to give me temporary relief, but not for long. Tylenol does not ease the pain. Needless to say, I have an extremely difficult time trying to fall asleep.

I have spoken to doctors about this condition, but no one has any answers. I did try eliminating my statin for 2 weeks and taking COQ10, but there was no improvement.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what may cause this and what I can do about it?
