Omeprazole - how do you come off it?

Had some terrible indigestion / intense heart beat / lump in the throat issues. To the point of not being able to eat.

Doc prescribed this for 2 weeks which has now finished and am now waiting to see if the problem has gone.

Doctor seemed to think it was a "virus" in my stomach, and that it should clear up.

I'm scared I'm going to need a tube down my throat.

Anyone else been in this situation?
Any dietary advice? Positive outcomes?

Rebound acid can be a big problem when you stop Omeprazole, so you need to wean off it very gradually. Ranitidine (Zantac) can help at this time. Also a low carb diet is a great help with acid reflux, if you can manage it.
